Local Magazine is an award-winning quarterly publication focused on community stories, local businesses, and neighborhood culture. Founded in 2010, they aim to connect readers with the vibrant people and places that make their city unique.

The Challenges

The magazine largely relied on user-submitted photography and writing. I added graphic elements with typography and illustration, and proofread the copy as I laid it out.

Concept to Execution

I wore many hats with this project. At times I went into the community and interviewed local businesses to take photos for their features. I gathered files, laid out editorials, and shepherded the publication through the printing process.
