HIP Binder

The Client

Hemophilia in Pictures was created for The World Federation of Hemophilia for use around the world. The concept was to create a print binder for medical professionals to use in areas of the world with low literacy rates and poor access to the internet. The healthcare workers could use the binder of images to help explain the disease process to people (often parents of newly diagnosed young children) in a clear and effective manner.

The Process

I interviewed doctors and experts in Hemophilia to understand the requirements for the original medical and informative illustrations, and created and designed the entire 95 page binder.

A CD Rom website was also created to distribute with the binder. This technology is still in use in some parts of the developing world, and the site can be navigated without the need for internet access.
